Global Head of Legal – Intellectual Property
For our client, a multinational listed company, we are recruiting a Global Head of Legal – IP. This position will be based in The Netherlands.
About the role:
As a Global Head of Legal – IP, you will have end responsibility and will be the subject matter expert on all global IP related topics for the company with a focus on patents, R&D and innovation. In this role you would have one direct report. Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining a global IP strategy and with a view to fostering strategic growth of the IP portfolio in several jurisdictions;
- Providing pro-active, accurate, relevant and timely advice to various stakeholders within the company on a variety of IP related topics in support of all business lines;
- Acting as a trusted IP legal advisor thereby assessing, proposing (and where appropriate) ensuring and managing, adequate mitigation of IP related risks.
It is a very exciting and dynamic position in which you will have to be able to communicate at all levels, drive strategic proposals and influence key stakeholders while having a pragmatic and assertive „can-do“ mindset.
About you:
- Relevant degree in Law;
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Private Practice experience at a top tier law firm experience is a requirement. Additional experience as an in-house IP lawyer would be considered as a strong advantage;
- In depth-knowledge of intellectual property licensing, patent, trade secrets and know-how with a good general understanding of all legal IP topics;
- Some management experience;
- Experience within a manufacturing/production/new product development environment;
- Assertive and pro-active mentality, strong networking capabilities.
- Business fluency in English, any other language would be considered as a plus.
