About the Role
The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate/Senior Associate to join their expanding Commercial IPCT team based in Birmingham. This role involves working on a diverse range of commercial matters, providing innovative and client-focused solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including product supply and distribution, agency, logistics and warehousing, supply chain, managed services, IT (software licensing, SaaS, system integration projects), outsourcing agreements, facilities management, and consumer contract law.
- Providing intellectual property licensing advice and handling non-contentious IP matters.
- Advising on compliance issues, including bribery, modern slavery, and data protection (UK GDPR and other relevant privacy laws).
- Managing intellectual property portfolios, including trademarks, and handling IP disputes.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.

With a growing market reputation and increasing workstreams, the team is known for delivering pragmatic, client-focused solutions and acting as trusted “in-house” advisors.
This role is ideal for a lawyer with experience across general commercial, intellectual property, IT, procurement, and project-related matters. As part of this dynamic team, you will play a crucial role in helping clients achieve their commercial objectives.
The Person
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes:
- Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a current practising certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver under pressure.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
- High level of professionalism and integrity.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
