Pension Risk and Governance Manager
- Join a multinational, leading manufacturer to manage and oversee the governance requirements for its large UK pension schemes.
- Shape risk management and drive process improvements.
- Be part of a small, close-knit team within the larger pensions department, reporting to the Head of Pensions Finance.
- Work with pension scheme Trustees, senior management, and take on a diverse role.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and own the Risk Management Framework for all UK pension schemes.
- Oversee governance and assurance plans to ensure an effective system of governance is in place.
- Ensure the Risk Management Framework addresses external requirements (e.g., Pensions Regulator, BAE Systems policies).
- Oversee and drive risk meeting agendas with pension scheme Trustees, collaborating with stakeholders to implement mitigating actions.
- Aggregate risk documentation (e.g., risk registers, risk reviews).
- Attend Trustee meetings to present and facilitate risk management discussions.
- Act as a key contact for outsourced service providers regarding assurance work.
- Oversee and manage the Pensions Assurance program, tracking progress of recommendations from assurance work (including Internal Audit).
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Auditing, Governance, and Assurance experience with strong policy and process understanding.
- Risk Management proficiency, capable of articulating frameworks and monitoring mechanisms.
- Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement, with the ability to build and influence positive relationships.
Desirable:
- Experience in the pensions industry to identify and adopt best practices.
- Knowledge of Pensions Regulator governance requirements, codes of practice, and GDPR.
Note: The role is based in Surrey and is a 24-month fixed-term contract offering a flexible work arrangement.
