An international law firm is looking for a 2-4 PQE lawyer focusing on Professional Indemnity and regulatory matters while contributing to general risk projects with a contentious aspect.

The Professional Indemnity (PI) team within this department manages risk issues, monitors claims trends, and promotes best practices globally to reduce risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing professional negligence issues to meet regulatory obligations and achieve positive outcomes for clients and the firm.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to handle claims and potential claims, ensuring effective reporting to PI insurers and seamless management.
  • Lead PI claims management, from pre-action to active proceedings, and report outcomes to key stakeholders.
  • Monitor claims trends and contribute to process improvements across practice groups.
  • Support global PI and cyber insurance placement efforts.
  • Handle regulatory investigations and contentious risk issues, including client complaints.
  • Partner with the Finance team to manage financial implications of claims

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified lawyer with 2-4 PQE and international law firm experience, particularly in litigation and professional negligence matters.
  • Ability to work independently while receiving appropriate oversight.
  • Deep understanding of challenges in a commercial legal practice.
  • Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality.
