An international law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer to support the Risk & Compliance team on legal, ethical, and regulatory matters globally. This is a dedicated and agile team committed to taking a hands-on approach to a range of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with queries on professional standards, conduct, ethics, conflicts, scams, contracts, and business continuity.
  • Update the Professional Standards Manual regularly.
  • Draft policies and procedures reflecting regulatory changes across jurisdictions.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate terms with counsel, foreign lawyers, and experts.
  • Maintain and update the risk register.
  • Resolve escalated conflicts queries.
  • Advise on anti-money laundering and sanctions.
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as needed.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Qualified lawyer with 5+ years’ PQE
  • At least 2 years’ compliance experience in an international firm
  • Strong knowledge of the SRA Handbook, anti-money laundering, and sanctions rules.
  • Excellent drafting, organizational, and IT skills.
  • Strong communicator with discretion and diplomacy.
  • Training experience or handling claims/complaints is a plus.
