New Job Opportunity: Clean Energy Lawyer

We are acting for a leading UK law firm who are seeking to recruit a talented Clean Energy Lawyer to join their dynamic energy practice. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of post-qualification experience (PQE), with strong commercial, projects, and/or regulatory experience within the clean energy sector. Applicants with transactional experience in the sector are also encouraged to apply.

The role can be based in any of the firm’s UK office with a particular interest in candidates based in London, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol.

This role involves working closely with the National Head of Clean Energy as well as another Legal 500 ranking Clean Energy Partner and other team members of the Clean Energy core team and wider group (95 lawyers) based across the UK offices.

Key Responsibilities:

Drafting and negotiating power purchase agreements
Battery optimisation and tolling contracts
Clean energy project developments, acquisitions, and disposals
Advising on low-carbon support regimes
Drafting and reviewing energy supply contracts
Negotiating biogas offtake arrangements
Compliance with Ofgem licensing and electricity regulation
Grid connection arrangements and private wires
Experience with technologies such as solar PV, wind, hydro, battery storage, energy-from-waste, biogas, hydrogen, EV charging infrastructure, and/or district heating is highly desirable.
