Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to employees, managers and executives on legal aspects of the Company’s construction transactions in the residential.
  • Draft and negotiate standard form appointments, sub-contracts and warranties with consultants, sub-contractors and investors.
  • Maintain and distribute update trackers.
  • Liaise with the commercial team in terms of risk positions for the Company.
  • Uphold a standard risk position for the Company across all transactional matters dealt with.
  • Other general legal duties may be assigned. There may be the opportunity to get involved with insurance matters.

The ideal candidate:

  • Legal Qualification and some experience of in-house or private practice experience.
  • Experience with appointments, warranties, TPRs, and sub-contracts.
  • General construction experience.
  • Any experience dealing with insurance matters would be a bonus.
  • Some valuable post qualification experience and ability to daapt quickly to business and stakeholder needs.
  • PQE Level could be from 1/2 PQE+ – however the client is very open to PQE level as long as someone shows willingness and adaptability to do a wide range and level of work. For someone more junior, this is a great opportunity to develop in some areas in-house and for someone with significant experience as a solicitor with valuable construction/ property development experience it is a chance to work in a friendly and busy team and work with a great business.

Working from home:

  • The client is open to those requiring good flexibility to work from home. Ideally they would like some form of weekly attendance in their offices (North London) but if more flexibility is required this could be offered for the right canidate.

Salary/Day Rate:

  • Our client is open to offering a day rate OR an FTC salary at market rate for specific levels of experience.
  • This role is inside IR35. Therefore, if a day rate is a preference, you must be able to work via an Umbrella Company or on Taylor Root’s agency payroll to meet IR35 regulations.

Start date: You must be able to start a new position within 1-2 weeks of receiving an offer. The client requires a rapid turnaround to ensure the business is well supported.
