If so, this role could be for you!

Our client own a number of well known retail fashion brands and are seeking a legal counsel to support their brand and supply chain legal team in a range of commercial matters on a 12 month FTC basis.

They are a team of 7 with a highly collaborative culture and a team. The team you will be joining looks after a number of crucial legal and commercial matters associated with brand management, marketing, sponsorship and supply chain matters.

As their Legal Counsel, you will:

* Business Partner with Brand teams on a wide range of brand marketing initiatives such as global sponsorships, collaboration deals, digital campaigns and Positive Business

* Respond promptly to legal queries from across the business in all areas from product conception and research and development through to marketing, sponsorship and influence queries to global logistics and supply chain matters.

* Negotiate and draft a broad range of commercial contracts with business partners, including influence and sports marketing agreements, IP licences, collaboration agreements, supply chain and logistics agreements confidentiality agreements, joint product development agreements, fabric development and supply agreements and general commercial contracts.

* Have day-to-day responsibility for executing and maintaining the groups global brand protection and anti-counterfeiting programme, including during key sporting events

* Advise on all aspects of intellectual property, both contentious and non-contentious.

* Advise on areas of corporate responsibility, including experience in advising on claims regarding the environmental benefits of products

* Assist with the management of the IP portfolio, including working with and supervising external counsel.

* Advise on all aspects of advertising law including social media and digital marketing

* Work with GC and Head of Global IP and Supply Chain on key strategic projects

This would suit:

  • Someone with in-house legal exposure or lawyer coming from private practice with existing knowledge and experience in retail or consumer brand where marketing/advertising/sponsorship/ supply chain matters are areas of strength.
  • If coming from private practice, secondments will be desirable
  • Experience with sponsorship agreements, marketing and advertising and commercial matters within creative industries (media, events, retail, FMCG) would be an advantage
  • Ideally seeking 3 years PQE and above but we will consider those with slightly less PQE level if relevant pre-qualification experience exists.

Start date: Seeking June 2025 start date

Salary: up to £85,000 per annum (Highly dependent on PQE level and relevant industry and technical knowledge)

Duration: 12 month FTC

Office working: 3 days a week required in Central London office.
