Senior Corporate Lawyer Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Corporate Lawyer to join a dynamic and thriving Corporate team. This role involves working with a diverse range of clients, with a particular focus on the education sector, including top-ranking universities such as the University of Cambridge, University of Manchester, and University of Exeter, as well as prominent national and international charities like the Wellcome Trust and Children’s Investment Fund.

This position is ideally suited to an ambitious solicitor passionate about advising on strategic corporate projects for education and charity clients. While experience in these sectors is preferred, it is not essential. The role can be based in Birmingham or Manchester.

Key Responsibilities:

Work on high-profile national and international projects, particularly within the education and charity sectors, including recent involvement in two of the largest university mergers in over 20 years.

Participate in a broader range of corporate matters across various markets and sectors within the firm as needed.

Candidate Profile:

This role is ideal for applicants with a minimum of five years’ PQE in corporate law, particularly those with an interest in the education and charity sectors. A strong working knowledge of the structure of educational establishments and charities is advantageous but not required.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Technical proficiency
Commercial awareness and a passion for transactions
Excellent drafting and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
A proactive approach to client service and the ability to thrive in a busy environment with tight deadlines

Team Structure:

The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced corporate lawyers, including those with significant expertise in the education and charity sectors. The role is part of a national service line, working across multiple offices and with international partners, offering exposure to a wide variety of projects and opportunities for professional growth.

Pre-Employment Screening:
