The Role

As a Tax Associate, you will:

  • Advise on tax structuring and implementation for a variety of transactions, including M&A, group restructurings, and financing projects.
  • Prepare and review tax-specific documentation such as covenants, warranties, and indemnities, and contribute to due diligence processes.
  • Provide expert guidance on UK and international tax issues, including cross-border transactions, double tax treaties, and compliance requirements.
  • Support clients in their interactions with tax authorities, including responding to enquiries and advising on penalties and appeal processes.
  • Develop solutions to address complex regulatory challenges, including tax considerations for real estate, partnerships, and corporate structures.
  • Collaborate with teams across multiple jurisdictions to deliver seamless, integrated advice.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 2-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in tax law, gained at a leading law firm or in-house.
  • Strong technical expertise in UK and international tax law, with experience in M&A, finance, or corporate structuring.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • A commercially focused approach and the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
  • A strong academic record and commitment to ongoing professional development.
